Thank you Icky

It has been awhile since we posted, and really it's the parents' fault, so we're posting again. He wanted to post a video from a recent trip to Point Defiance.

Happy Birthday every Grandma and Grandpa, it's your birthday! Evidently that is all we have to say. We'll review on everyone's birthday later.

A Good Day

It must be a good day. After doing their part cleaning up, the boys played peacefully in their room together while I finished up.

People sometimes ask me what we do without a TV - here's my answer.

Clubhouse

Although he may not know it, Caden has the coolest mom ever. Who else would build a clubhouse for their kid out of branches?

My tree

This is a tree Gma sent, we tried an experiemnt with our new camera using time lapse photography. It would have worked better without the flash, I think.

Sorry it's been so long; the weather is getting nicer, which means we're spending more time outside.

This picture is dansing. This was from the Festival of Colors at the Hindu Temple. Later that evening we threw bags of colorful chalk dust at each other.
That looks like cutes.
I love Shackleton!
I love Spencer's ear! What about the rest of him? Yes. Then I want to get to a drawing place where I can send a letter that I can click on...fade to random bablings.

A-chooie

I love this lovely dinner I made for my mom and other people in my family. It is noodles and vegetables and CHEESE. Guess what I did to make it.

I love Shackleton. This is a really bad picture of him, but he refuses to smile for the camera. He does have a really cute smile, though, once he breaks it out.
Sixpence had black beans for lunch the other day and looked kind of like Blackbeard the pirate. Yum!

Colors, snow, and rainbows

Saturday night we went to the local Krishna Temple's Festival of Colors. The boys had a great time. Sixpence still talks about "throw color Daddy" and Mugwump is pretty proud of the fact that he turned me all pink. They also had some traditional Indian dancers perform. I was surprised that Mugwump was interested for so long! He enjoyed. Sixpence slept through all the dancing.

We got a spring snow over the weekend, and Mugwump couldn't resist playing in it. He built the snowman ALL BY HIMSELF! I was impressed.
For Sixpence's playgroup at our house, we found a good use for Fruit Loops.

Foochie

Here is a "Snowe Skrapbook" Caden made yesterday. Enjoy!

This is a snowy day scrapbook. I spelled all the words myself (he did ask for help with "oo" and "k," but that's it)
This is me on a raft. The yellow part underneath is a paper raft.
I love to read books. This is a picture of Daddy reading a book to me. The yellow thing is a book. Ow. (he just bumped his elbow, and wanted to make sure that got on his blog) I scraped it on the window.
Wise owl and a frowny face. Why is he frowning? 'Cause it's snowing. 'Cause it's snowing.
It says, "The end."

phonics

Today Mugwump started a restaurant. He named it Football and made up his own menu. Here are your choices, can you figure out what you want to order?

Petsu

ksudu

Frgr

Can you sound out the words and figure out what was on the menu? The first two are pretty easy, but if you can get the third, I'll be amazed.

Snoodle

Everybody see it? Floodle. I love you. Grandma and Icky. I want to see you again. Love, Caden.

Today we went to the BYU dinosaur museum. Mugwump's favorite dinosaur was the Allosaurus. Sixpence's favorite thing was the mammoth tusk. He did a dance because he was so excited! We also got to play at the park with some friends. Hooray for sunny, warmish weather!

(CAden wants to write in "fancy letters," so his typing is in italics here.)

Cloodle

Love Caden. I'm gonna write to Nong Peat. I love you.

I made a 5 shirt so I can go to Kindergarten. Why did you put a 5 on it? So I could go to kindergarten. Can you go to kindergarten when you're 4? No, they don't allow me in kindergarten. How come? I've heard that before.

What are you doing here? Dancing. Dancing. Dancing still. [Nong Peat] will like this, huh. Do you think this shows up on their TV? It'll show up on their computer. Yeah, if they have one. Do they have a laptop, like Daddy?
Do you want to tell people you got a haircut today? No, they don't like that. They can see it in the pictures!
Mom again. We checked out the first series of the BOB books from the library this week. Mugwump is excited because they are books he can read all by himself, they have pictures, and they (sort of) make a storyline. He's read a couple of them to us - he's doing great!

Mammoth

This is a picture of a mammoth I drew for Sixpence.

Floodle

Let everybody see it. This is a picture of school. The bird should be blue, but it's really purple! (Mugwump's side is on the left, Sixpence's is on the right; M's looks purple in the picture)

I'm planting in my garden. You can go up and down and up and down (he's singing a song).

I'm planting. I'm making concrete. I'm crushing dirt. Well, I was really crushing chunks of dirt. I was making concrete so we could put some new...actually, I was making new dirt to patch the cracked dirt. Or I could just patch the cracks. And that's all I want to say.

Majudy

I miss you, everybody. This is my favorite animal. Can you guess what it is called?
kd zxcv cadeeeeeeeeeeeeeebbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnndddddddddddddddvvvv bbbbbbbbbbbbbbbttttgggg
It says muggle. That big word there, it says muggle. C-A-DDDDD-EEEEEE-NNNNN-DDDDD-VVVVVV-PPPPPPP. Is that silly? It that a long word to spell? Can I spell hadido? hyllpacy
Boody. And Daddy's booties.
[This is Mom. I may jump in occasionally (or often) on Mugwump's blog so I can brag about - I mean, let family and friends know - what he is up to.
He announced last Sunday that he wanted to start kindergarten this week. So, being the dedicated mom that I am, I made him come up with ideas for things he wanted to do for "kindergarten." We started on Monday (President's Day). It's been fun! I have enjoyed the challenge of finding things to do every day. We're keeping it really simple, yet he has surprised me with the things he can do. We've done math with legos and pictures of the Titanic, flipped through an atlas of world history and saw a painting of Aztec human sacrifice (i need to edit our materials a little better!), made and played a board game for reading practice, and played in the nasty snowmelt gutter water (we have to have recess, don't we?).]

Welcome to my blog!

I want to do my pictures in order. I don't want them to be mixed up.

WE're making something. It is Dad and me making electronics that Earl and Heather sent us. We're trying to stick it to stuff. I learned not to touch electricity because it could shock you. I"m teaching people with my blog.

We're reading a book with my Grandma. That's all that I want to say

We took a picture of hearts. We put the hearts on the board and graphed it. Then we ate lots.
I didn't get any

I'm with Shack, playing with him. That's all I want to say. NOw we'll go to the next one, OK.

This is a car I built out of Legos. That's all I want to say.
